How it works
Talk to your employer
Employer application
Approval checks
Employers are asked to confirm:
- That you are employed in a suitable role.
- That you will be given the time for off-the-job learning.
- That they can provide mentoring and support during your apprenticeship.
Start your journey
Once your employer has submitted the application and approval is confirmed, your apprenticeship can begin. You’ll complete onboarding and induction with Impact Academy before diving into your programme.
Why employer support is important
Your employer’s approval is essential because:
- Apprenticeships are part of your job — your learning must link directly to workplace tasks.
- Employers provide mentoring and sign off on your progress.
- Government funding can only be accessed when an employer is involved.
- You will need employer confirmation before moving to End Point Assessment (EPA).
What You Should Do as a Learner
- Speak to your manager or HR team about your interest in an apprenticeship.
- Share details of the apprenticeship you’d like to complete.
- Ask your employer to contact Impact Academy to begin the approval process.
Remember: Apprenticeships are always a three-way partnership between you, your employer, and Impact Academy. Your employer’s approval is the first step towards unlocking your training journey.
